2013 Goals {Update}

Yesterday I went through my blog to see if I had made any 2013 goals (how quickly i forget) and sure enough, I had! Since I had forgotten I even made these, I think it’s safe to say I didn’t do that great sticking to them. Maybe next year I will write them down and put them on our fridge so it’s something I see every single day.

goals

1. Be Positive – Like I said above – Think positive and positive things will happen. I would say I was 80% positive last year. We’ve had some crappy situations come our way (and some great ones too!) so it was hard getting over those bumps. I will continue my positive outlook!

2. Get my last name officially changed from Kuminski to Kartzman. If someone doesn’t MAKE me do something it takes forever. I’m giving myself til February 6th to do it (That will be 4 months from our wedding date!) 4 months…hahahahaha. Took me almost as long as it took me to send out our Thank You cards. 11 months — But at least it was before our 1 year!

3. Improve my time management skills – It seems that I’m only late to one place… Work. I really need to get better at this! I am actually 7 minutes early to work every day. I guess it helps when you like your job.

4. Run anything longer than a 5k race. An 8k, 10k or 1/2 marathon sounds good to me! I’ve run some of these distances, but not as a race.

5. Take a photography class. I need to take more pictures with my new Canon Rebel camera instead of my iPhone. My phone is so convenient but the quality is so much better on the Canon. No photography class was taken, that is still on the list.

6. Continue with my pescatarian diet. I have never felt better than I do now. Giving up meat 13 months ago was a great choice!  I would have kept going if it weren’t for the fact that my doctor said to start eating meat again because my body needed it. We do only eat grass fed organic meat/poultry though.

7. Add more strength training into my workouts – Running is great but I would love to tone up! Adam and I are joining a cross fit gym across the street and we’ve been twice so far – I can tell you this, I have never been sorer in my life! I sneezed today and almost cried because of how sore my abs were. I did do much more strength training this year — I also got into soul cycle which kind of took over my love for running!

8. Move into a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment/house. We need more room… Ok fine, I need more closet space. We did! I got that MUCH bigger closet space I was hoping for :)

9. Volunteer. I am thinking about joining the New York Junior League and am attending a meeting next week to see if it’s the right fit for me. Unfortunately, the NYJL wasn’t for me… It was a huge commitment and I didn’t want to sign up for something if I couldn’t fulfill their expectations. We did try and volunteer once this year but their was an overflow of volunteers. Glad to see so many people doing good in this world!

10. Continue going to Church every Sunday – We decided we would start to go to Church in December and so far we’ve been every week this month. I hope to stay on track! We did really well until the summer time. We traveled a lot from March – October and it was hard to get there every week. We will be back soon :)
